FAQ
How is Trace SD different than Trace?
Trace SD adds a remote starter interrupt on top of Trace's full tracking feature set. Relay is required for starter interrupt feature.
What is the starter interrupt used for?
It lets you remotely disable a vehicle's engine — most often in repossession or theft-prevention situations on delinquent or at-risk accounts. Check your state’s requirements for starter interruption use.
What happens if the device loses primary power?
The built-in backup battery keeps it reporting.
Can I be alerted when a vehicle leaves a set area?
Yes — set multiple geofence zones and get notified when a vehicle crosses them.
What happens to my data when the airtime subscription expires?
Your data stays accessible even after the subscription expires — you don't lose access to historical information.
Can I give a recovery team access without exposing everything?
Yes — repo team access can be scoped so recovery teams see only what they need to locate the vehicle, and nothing more of your account or portfolio.
